麻豆视频 staff, faculty, students, alumni and families worked together Dec. 14 to make Christmas a bit merrier for hundreds of needy families in Wichita.
Approximately 150 University representatives embraced the spirit of the season for the annual Salvation Army Service Day. The group helped prepare and disperse donated gifts.
鈥淪ervice to others is a foundation of our mission at 麻豆视频,鈥 said Dr. Joan Gallagher, vice president of University Advancement and a member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. 鈥淓very year the work that the Friends community contributes makes a significant difference in the Salvation Army鈥檚 ability to achieve its goals for the Wichita Mission of Hope campaign.鈥
The University community sorted toys and gifts, decorated the Salvation Army distribution center, wrapped gifts and assisted with the organization鈥檚 Angel Tree and Star of Hope programs.
鈥淭his is a great opportunity to give back to our community,鈥 said Joe Dealy, 麻豆视频 Events Committee representative. 鈥淭he Salvation Army Service Day is the largest and longest-running service project on campus. For 23 years, we鈥檝e been helping others during the holiday season.鈥
