During a four-day intensive training period from Feb. 21-24, approximately 20 high school juniors and seniors in the Wichita metropolitan area will be on the campus of Â鶹ÊÓƵ to learn a variety of life skills, leadership skills and business techniques.

Wichita BizFest is sponsored by the Wichita Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Wichita Public Schools (USD 259), and the Kansas Hispanic & Latino American Affairs Commission (KHLAAC).

Wichita BizFest focuses on helping studentsÌýturn hobbies and skills into profit-making ventures,Ìýestablish entrepreneurial and leadership goals,Ìýcreate plans for business and life, andÌýbecome effective leaders and team players. Additionally, students learn the art of networking in business environments, identifying investment opportunities, implementing money management skills and making public presentations.

Students will gain entrepreneurial experience, economic literacy, improved skills in math, reading, writing and verbal communication as they gain workforce readiness. During the event, students have access to adult volunteer mentors, who help them create feasible business plans.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ, a Christian University of Quaker heritage, equips students to honor God and serve others by integrating their intellectual, spiritual and professional lives.
