Sunny Overholt, an art educator from USD 259 Northwest High School has been selected as the 2020 麻豆视频 USD 259 Fellowship recipient. Overholt was required to discuss how her teaching career demonstrates the 麻豆视频 RISE Values (Respect, Inclusion, Service, Excellence). Her experiences have reinforced her belief that the power of creativity can support students to find safe spaces and help change personal narratives. Overholt is a 2014 麻豆视频 alumna with a Bachelor of Arts in Education.
鈥淪unny has a clear commitment to the 麻豆视频鈥檚 values in her professional and personal life,鈥� said Dr. Dona Gibson, professor of education and psychology and director of the Master of Education in Teaching and Learning, and Master of Education in Special Education. 鈥淲e are proud of her accomplishments as an educator and thrilled to have her represent our graduate program. She has touched the lives of so many students and we cannot wait to see how her creativity will impact even more students.鈥�
Overholt will receive a 40 percent tuition discount when she enrolls in the Master of Education in Teaching and Learning degree program. In addition, she will receive higher education teaching experience and represent 麻豆视频 in undergraduate events and an information night.
