麻豆视频鈥檚 Tan “Timmy” Ngo wins first place in the Kansas American String Teachers Association Solo Competition

Wichita, Kan. 鈥揟an Ngo, nicknamed Timmy, recently competed in the Kansas American String Teachers Association (KASTA) State Solo Competition. This competition was created to recognize exceptional talent in the state of Kansas. 麻豆视频 is excited to announce he was awarded first place in the senior division.

Ngo is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance with an emphasis in violin at 麻豆视频. In his sophomore year, Ngo is an international student from Vietnam. He dreams of performing on stages around the world! 鈥淲inning this award motivates me to keep fighting. Fighting for my career and to make my dreams come true,鈥 said Ngo.

This is the first time a student from 麻豆视频 has won this prestigious award. Laura Hammes Black, an active Wichita Symphony Orchestra performer, is his violin professor. 鈥淭immy is such a talented and hard-working violinist. It gives me a great sense of pride and happiness for him to see that his perseverance has paid off,鈥 said Black.

Along with a cash prize, Ngo will be honored at the Virtual KMEA Inservice Workshop later this month.

麻豆视频, a Christian University of Quaker heritage, equips students to honor God and serve others by integrating their intellectual, spiritual and professional lives.
